{"id":2137,"date":"2020-02-04T18:08:15","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T17:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onekin.eus\/?p=2137"},"modified":"2023-03-17T08:27:24","modified_gmt":"2023-03-17T07:27:24","slug":"selected-startups-for-the-4th-cohort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onekin.eus\/en\/news\/selected-startups-for-the-4th-cohort\/","title":{"rendered":"Selected Startups for the 4th cohort"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The public-private start-up\naccelerator for the smart industry,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/bind40mkt\"><strong>BIND 4.0<\/strong><\/a>, has selected 38 emerging\ncompanies to deploy a total of 54 Industry 4.0 projects in its fourth\nacceleration programme, which begins on 21 January. This is a 20% increase on\nthe number of the projects selected and contracted by the trail-blazing\ncompanies in the previous edition, which clearly shows their commitment to\ninnovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After assessing the 577 entries\nreceived for this latest edition, \u201310% up on the previous year\u2013, the most\nstrategic innovative projects in different application areas of the industry\nwere chosen. Specifically, 47% of the projects will be applied to the\nindustrial sector, 23% to the field of food, 15% to the energy sector and 15%\nto health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BIND 4.0 was set up in 2016 as\na meeting point between innovative start-ups internationally and leading\ncompanies. It has since accelerated a total of 108 start-ups and 173 Industry\n4.0 projects have been implemented. These figures are combined with the good\nresults obtained by the companies once the programme has ended. The fact is\nthat 67% of the start-ups continue working with the trailblazing companies\nafter the programme ends and 6 out of every 10 start-ups renew their contract\nwith them. Thus, after four years of being up and running, BIND 4.0 has been\nconsolidated as a unique initiative capable of driving the digital\ntransformation of industry and, in turn, of accelerating the consolidation of\ninnovative initiatives using the validation of technologies in benchmark\ncustomer scenarios. Furthermore, this initiative is supported by the Basque\nMinistry of Economic Development and Infrastructure through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spri.eus\/es\/\">SPRI\nGroup<\/a>, the Basque Government\u2019s business development agency. SPRI is\nleading the ecosystem of entrepreneurship in the Basque Country through\nits&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/upeuskadi.spri.eus\/es\/\">UpEuskadi platform.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The profile of the selected start-ups for the 4<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;BIND 4.0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As regards the provenance of\nthe start-ups selected to take part in this year\u2019s acceleration programme, it\nis noteworthy that 18 are from the Basque Country (8 from Bizkaia, 6 from\nGipuzkoa and 4 from Araba) and a total of 20 companies are from other autonomous\ncommunities and different countries around the world. Therefore, the 4<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;BIND 4.0 has seen a 12%\nincrease in the number of companies from outside the Basque Country, with\nrespect to the previous year when there were 13 selected companies. Thus, 52% of\nthe selected start-ups are from outside the Basque Country this year.\nSpecifically, the 12 start-ups from other autonomous communities are from\nMadrid (4), Catalonia (5), Navarra (1), Andalusia (1) and Castilla y Le\u00f3n (1).\nAnd the 8 international ones are from Denmark (2), Germany (2), Turkey (1), the\nUnited Kingdom (1), Italy (1) and Latvia (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the start-ups selected for this fourth edition have submitted high-quality cutting-edge solutions, in order to improve processes, services and products. To that end, they apply innovative technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things or Big Data, which are the most represented areas among the selected projects and account for 60% of solutions. Special mention should be made this year of the increase of the number of selected projects in the field of artificial vision, with application to optimise quality controls, likewise followed by other innovative solutions of cybersecurity, nanotechnology and robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>38 Startups will Participate in the 4th Edition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table
