The 19 new foods that can be sold from this year onwards: from grubs and crickets to strange nuts
In 2023, the European Union gave the go-ahead to 19 new foods that can now be used for human consumption in EU countries. They are part of the so-called novel foods, hitherto alien to our food tradition and which, in compliance with the relevant legislation, can now be found on our markets with the assurance that they do not pose any risk to our health.
