The Food Global Ecosystem

The Food Global Ecosystem is a public-private project with which Euskadi seeks to attract innovation projects, entrepreneurial talent and startups in the technological aspects of the agri-food sector (agritech, foodtech, and gastronomytech). This ecosystem, which brings together some 60 companies, has a network of assets and services to support research, innovation and digitalization of the food chain in the Basque Country; such as HAZI, a coordinating agent and catalyst of the initiative, NEIKER as a research center for projects in the agricultural field, AZTI as an agent for large research projects and generation of food technology, and BASQUE CULINARY CENTER as the main player in attracting talent, entrepreneurs in the food field and a vehicle for internationalization of the ecosystem. In turn, the ecosystem will be supported by the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network of Euskadi. These capabilities will enable the development of a solid strategy aimed at transforming the value chain in terms of sustainability, health and food safety. An international, open and collaborative ecosystem, with the capability to attract talent and catalyze innovation and digitalization dynamics in terms of sustainability and social cohesion for companies and entrepreneurs.
