Grants to foment new sustainable aquaculture companies

Objetive

Drive an entrepreneurial spirit in the aquaculture sector and encourage job creation, by aquaculture farmers creating new sustainable aquaculture companies that initiate their activity in the sector under the following conditions:

  • Holding necessary professional skills and qualifications.
  • Creating a micro- or small aquaculture enterprise for the first time as owners.
  • Presenting a business plan to conduct aquaculture activities.
  • If the project is more than 50,000 euros, feasibility study including EIA.
  • Independent report proving good sales perspectives for the product.
  • Creating aquaculture operations oriented toward environmental sustainability.
  • Consideration of the location of the operation in a zone with aquaculture potential.

Targeting

  • New aquaculture farmers, legal or natural persons may be beneficiaries of these grants.

Description

The grant's intensity is established based on objective criteria applicable, as well as weighting the criteria as follows:

  • Project technical feasibility, up to 50 points.
  • Project's collective interest, up to 50 points.

The grant is paid once execution is proved, and payment of the subsidised investments, by presenting the invoices and receipts of their payment.
