Hazitek SPRI

Objetive

Support for the implementation of Industrial Research or Experimental Development projects, both competitive and strategic, in the business sector of the Basque Autonomous Community and in the areas of specialization of the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan Euskadi 2030. It has 2 different lines of support:

Competitive R&D projects: aimed at the development of new products, processes and services. They can be carried out individually or in cooperation and require a total annual budget of at least €100,000.
R&D projects of a strategic nature: arising from business leadership and taking advantage of the scientific and technological capabilities of the Basque Country, carried out either in cooperation or individually. They require a minimum budget of 4 M € and a maximum duration of 3 years.

Targeting

Basque business fabric (large companies, SMEs and business associations).

Description

The R&D aid program Hazitek 2025 has been designed to promote Research and Development Projects, both in SMEs and in large companies and associations of Basque companies.

The program offers non-refundable grants to provide the necessary resources for Industrial Research or Experimental Development and its budget is divided into two lines of support depending on the competitive or strategic nature of the projects.

As a novelty, the 2025 call will be managed in a single Phase.
Eligible projects:
Line 1_ Industrial Research and Experimental Development Projects
of a competitive nature

Total PPTO: 100,000 €/year minimum
PPTO per participant: 50,000 €/year minimum
R&D activities aimed at developing original products/processes/services superior to those already existing
R&D activities aimed at using or generating marketable knowledge to create new companies
R&D projects developed individually or in cooperation between two or more entities
Line 2_ Industrial Research and Experimental Development Projects
of a strategic nature

Total PPTO: 4M € minimum.
Maximum duration of 3 years.
Projects of a strategic nature in the fields of Smart Industry, Clean Energy and Personalized Health

Projects that exert a tractor effect on the economy of the Basque Country, favoring the intervention of SMEs and access to the Horizon Europe Program.
Cooperative research between at least 3 companies and agents of the RVCTI as subcontractors.
What is Industrial Research?
Industrial Research projects are aimed at acquiring new knowledge and skills that may be useful to develop new products, processes or services or allow to significantly improve existing ones. In this way, a level of technological maturity equivalent to a TRL4 can be reached.

What is Experimental Development?
Experimental Development projects are those focused on the acquisition, combination, configuration and use of existing scientific, technological, business or other knowledge and techniques, with a view to the development of plans and structures or designs of new or improved products, processes or services; allowing to reach a technological maturity level equivalent to a TRL7.
