The Nirea Program promotes the co-responsibility of society with the maintenance of the primary sector and the rural and coastal environment of the Basque Country. Through networking, it seeks to bring citizens, companies and organizations closer to producers, generating connections that reinforce their recognition and support.
Its main objectives are:
– To raise awareness in Basque society about the value of the primary sector and its essential role in food, landscape and sustainability of the territory.
– To encourage the commitment and action of companies, administrations, entities and citizens to support local producers through the consumption of their products and collaboration in initiatives that strengthen the sector.
– Strengthen networking between the agents of the primary sector and other strategic sectors to promote synergies and innovative projects that favor their viability and recognition.
– To make visible good practices and successful experiences in the rural and coastal areas, showing models of collaboration and projects that favor sustainability and development of the primary sector.
