Basque Culinary Action has launched, with the collaboration of the Basque Government and HAZI, the “On the Road” program. This is a series of global events in “roadshow” format aimed at foodtech startups and 360º Gastronomy. In each of the venues, the event is held in collaboration with local partners, with the following format:
1-Selection of startups:
Opening of the call for startups to apply, in the ecosystem of their choice.
Only startups in pre-seed or seed stage in the foodtech field and located in the country where the competition is held may apply for the competition.
Once the deadline closes, teams of experts, formed by Basque Culinary Center and local partners, will analyze the registered startups and select, in each of the “stops” 5 finalists.
2-The events:
On the day of the event, the 5 startups will present their project to the team of experts and potential attendees (investors, mentors and local agents).
In addition, in each of the events, there will be presentations and masterclasses from the Basque Culinary Center team and local partners.
The team of experts will select a winning startup for each event and the day will end with an activity that will enhance networking among attendees.
3-Winning startups:
All finalist startups will receive the prize for one month of residence in the startup incubator LABe – Digital Gastronomy Lab, located in Donostia-San Sebastian and managed by Basque Culinary Center.
The prize can be spent whenever they want, throughout 2023.
The prize for the winning startups of each stop consists of: :
The advanced plan of the GOe Community digital platform, thanks to which they will be able to join and access our network of experts and mentors.
A 20-hour voucher for research projects at BCC Innovation, the Basque Culinary Center’s Gastronomy technology center.
Other additional benefits such as: Landing assistance in local ecosystem, investors network, Network of companies, etc.
Additionally, there will be prizes from some local partners of each ecosystem.
4-End of the Road:
The “tour” of the roadshow will end in Donostia-San Sebastian, with an event in which the winning startups in each of the events will compete.
This event will be attended by the Culinary Action! network of mentors, as well as partners and collaborators, with whom the startups will be able to interact during the networking.
The winning startup will be offered as a prize an additional 25 hours for research projects with BCC Innovation and an extension to a one-year residency in our startup incubator LABe – Digital Gastronomy Lab.
