MEETING POINT FOR ALL AGENTS IN THE VALUE CHAIN OF FOOD, WOOD AND RURAL AND COASTAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY
European programs
The European Commission and other European entities have different support programmes available for the implementation of projects. Most of them require the cooperation of two or more partners from different European regions or states and are in line with the priorities set by Europe regarding the green and digital transition. Their objectives are diverse, ranging from R&D, innovation, environment, citizenship, sustainability, digitisation, training, technology, etc.

In addition to the Basque administrations’ own aid, there are other European aid programmes. Most of them require the cooperation of two or more partner entities from different European regions or states and are in line with the priorities set by Europe regarding the green and digital transition. Their objectives are diverse, ranging from R&D, innovation, environment, citizenship, sustainability, digitisation, training, technology, etc.
Participating in these programmes is not always easy, but in the Basque Country, and more specifically in the agri-food and wood ecosystem, there are different agents that can help in this process.
These programmes may depend directly on the European Commission, such as Horizon Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+ or the EU Promotion of agricultural products ‘Enjoy it’s from Europe’. Or they can be financed with ERDF funds, such as all the Interreg programmes (in the case of the Basque Country, they are Interreg POCTEFA, Interreg SUDOE, Interreg Atlantic Area and Interreg Europe). But there are also the aid programmes of the New Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarre Euroregion, which works to promote cross-border cooperation.

Any natural or legal person that meets the requirements specified in the different calls for proposals of the different European programs.
